FAQ
Quick answers to the common stuff.
Hey, thanks for using opengraphdesigner
I'm JP Sanchez, the founder of opengraphdesigner. I’m genuinely grateful you’re here. If you ever need help, you can message me on X @ogjayp or reach out through my studio, Studio Sando.
Can I stay on Free forever?
Yes. Free includes 1GB of cloud storage with CDN delivery, unlimited uploads, 10 AI credits/month, and PNG + meta tag export.
What does “API access” mean?
Pro includes API access for dynamic Open Graph image rendering, so you can generate OG images programmatically for posts, products, pages, and more. Limits will be documented once the API launches.
How does this compare to Canva or Figma?
Canva and Figma are amazing general-purpose design tools. opengraphdesigner is purpose-built for Open Graph images — fast templates, precise sizing, and (with Pro) dynamic OG image rendering via API.
How does this compare to Bannerbear or Placid?
Bannerbear and Placid are great for template-based generation, but you can be constrained by their template systems and limited visual customization. opengraphdesigner gives you a full visual editor (Figma-like control) and Pro API access for dynamic Open Graph rendering — so you design once, then generate OG images programmatically without being stuck in preset templates.
Why not just use Vercel OG / an OG image library?
Vercel OG is great for simple, code-based OG generation. But you don’t get full design capabilities (advanced layout, fine typography control, full asset workflows), font support can be limiting, and there are practical size/runtime constraints depending on how you deploy it. opengraphdesigner is built for richer designs and a visual workflow — plus dynamic rendering via API (Pro).
Do you optimize OG images?
Yes — when you save/publish an image, we optimize it for fast delivery on our CDN so it loads quickly across social platforms. You can use our infrastructure for both static OG image URLs and dynamic (programmatic) rendering.
